Due to the Winter Storm Warming That is in Effect in the area until 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oshkosh Schools are closed
On Wednesday, Oshkosh's public and private schools are closed.
Up to 1 p.m., the region is still under a winter storm warning.
he National Weather Service stated that heavy gusts and snow were predicted to persist through Wednesday morning.
With wind gusts reaching 45 mph, an extra 2 to 4 inches of snow were predicted, resulting in patchy blowing and drifting snow.
Strong gusts and the weight of the snow on tree limbs, according to the NWS, might bring down power lines and cause power outages.
It was recommended that people should prepare for slick roads because Wednesday's patchy blowing snow will probably make visibility worse. Snow is likely before 8 a.m., according to the prediction, and snow mixed with rain is possible later in the morning.
Thursday morning is also expected to bring rain and snow, with a second chance of snowfall that might result in less than a half-inch of new accumulation.
Temperatures are predicted to increase to about 42 degrees by Friday under largely sunny sky.
Highs this weekend are expected to be around 46 on Saturday and 50 on Sunday.
